Virtual Garments

Please specify your desired illuminant when placing an order with us; TL84, D65 (Daylight), ‘A’ (Tungsten), Cool White Fluorescent, Inc A. Whilst every effort will be made to ensure a good visual match to the colour standard in your requested illuminant (usually the store lighting where garments are displayed for sale), the shade may not be considered a commercial match in another illuminant e.g. in office lighting. This is due to the metamerism between fabric dyes and printing inks. Please ensure any commercial decisions are made in the correct light source and ensure the shade matching of the Virtual Garments is acceptable to the standard for the purpose required.

  1. We reserve the right to supply Virtual Garments in a version of Black and White when these colours are requested. These will not match the physical standards but are representative of these shades, to ensure that the Virtual Garments remain life-like with the correct amount of shadowing. Therefore Black will appear thinner than the colour standard to show Black shadows and White may appear slightly greyer to show the outlines and shadows of the garment.

  2. While every effort will be made to match the requested Colour Standard, colour limitations do exist with inkjet printing system in the area of fluorescent colours, highly saturated reds and very saturated dark colours. This may require us to supply a slightly thinner or flatter shade than the requested colour. NB We did satisfactorily produce the Netherlands Orange shade for NIKE.

  3. The Colourmaster® process will produce the best results if the original (‘donor’) garment, is in certain shade types. Light to Medium shades work best, i.e. Dusty Pink, Pale Blue, Beige, Sage Green etc. While every effort will be made to produce a good result from a Black, Navy or White garment as the ‘donor’ garment for the process, the result may not be as detailed and effective.

  4. The texture and character of the printed Virtual Garment will be the same as the donor garment. Therefore Marl, Printed or Stripe garments are not suitable to produce a plain image. However, if the required resulting image is to be a Marl then a Marl garment is required.

  5. If a full pattern repeat is not supplied for a 'mapped garment whilst every effort will be made to ensure effective results it is possible evidence of 'tiling' will be evident in the end result.
  6. Transparent garments will not produce realistic Virtual Garments. The colour and appearance is affected by the backdrop to the photograph.
